Nominate your fellow outstanding Lincoln College alumnus/a for an Alumni Achievement Award. Awards are presented at the annual alumni reunion weekend every April. Nominations are due by January 1 to be considered for the upcoming reunion. Nominations received after that date will be considered for the following year. Self submissions are encouraged.
There are five alumni achievement awards available:
The Young Alumni Achievement Award
This award was established to recognize future leaders among Lincoln College’s young alumni, defined as those who have been alumnus/a for 20 years or less. This individual should demonstrate leadership capabilities, have a substantial indication of a commitment to the service of others, demonstrate the potential for leadership/distinction in the long term, and/or have substantial commitment to Lincoln College and its mission.
The Alumni Achievement Award
This award is presented to a Lincoln College graduate who shows inspiration to others, characterizes the values and ideals of Lincoln College, gives distinguished service through professional or personal achievement and demonstrates continuing interest in Lincoln College. Since 1962 nearly 150 Alumni Achievement Awards have been presented to alumni from all walks of life who have left their mark on the lives of others and their communities.
The Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award
This award is the most prestigious of Lincoln College’s awards and was first awarded in 2007 to Hollywood film producer Bruce Block, class of 1968. This award is reserved for graduates who have obtained the highest level of professional accomplishment with notable achievements in a prominent field and who are viewed as influential in that field.
The Honorary Alumni Award
This award is presented to a friend of Lincoln College who has given distinguished service to Lincoln College throughout the years. This individual should demonstrate success in a profession or vocation, provide distinguished service and recognized leadership in work or community, be in receipt of local, state, national or international recognition or be held in high esteem based on moral integrity and decency. Since 1980 a total of 49 Honorary Alumni Awards have been presented.
The LaVeta Zurkammer Alumni Award
This award was established in 2011, and rightfully so, was first awarded to LaVeta (Baker) Zurkammer, class of 1936. This is an award which will recognize and honor future generations of Lincoln College alumni whose love and enthusiasm for their alma mater are demonstrated by their life-long dedication to and involvement with Lincoln College, its mission and programs, as exemplified by LaVeta Baker Zurkammer for the past 75+ years.
